Revisiting The Twilight Zone: S3 E2

Season 3:  Episode 2:  The Arrival

Ah, you have to love the 'mystery on a plane' episodes. There is so much you can do with them, and so many scenarios you can play with them. When a plane arrives at an airport, but is subsequently found to have no passengers and no crew aboard, along with no luggage, an immediate investigation is launched in which Grant Sheckly is posted to run, a man who proudly claims to have never failed to solve an aviation case. As the episode moves along, and the many strange incidents and problems are noticed one by one, there appears to be no rational conclusion to be made... until the final piece of the puzzle slides into place.

For the most part the episode continues to build up to something big, something improbable, and while the final twist at the end is one you may not be expecting, you may well see it as a cop out as well. Oh well, not everything is meant to be completely unexplained.

Rating:  The plane that lands itself.   3.5/5
