So... A Caeserian It Is Then!

Helen toddled off to the specialist this morning, to seek a full opinion on what she is facing.
It turns out that, due to the fact that her placenta is covering her cervix too much (placenta previa), she will have to undergo a caesarean section rather than go through with a natural birth. There is a technical term to this, but I'm buggered if I can remember it, and Helen isn't around to ask.
Helen was naturally disappointed, but I think she will come around to the conclusion that, without medical intervention (in the form of IVF), we would never have had this child in the first place, so a little more intervention at the end, to secure a healthy baby AND mother, is all for the best.

So - Helen is booked in Wednesday July 30, at 1.00pm. Of course, should anything out of the ordinary occur before then, then she'll probably go straight in. Damn, I've got to get that woman to pack her hospital bag!
