The inspiration for the Stutter Rap (see entry a couple of days ago) was the burgeoning popularity of bands like the Beastie Boys. The great thing about these guys is that they didn't take themselves too seriously, and knew that a sense of humour opened up the audience that they could access.

For those old enough to remember, no one could ever forget the film clip for this song, and how much it was run on MTV and other clip shows at the time. For those not old enough, watch along and giggle like my kids still do whenever this comes on.
