S04E07: Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man

Finally! An enjoyable episode where the story line may not have been canon, and for the most part had nothing at all to do with the timeline of the series, but allowed the Cigarette Smoking Man an opportunity to show us what he can do. 

While the 'events' as portrayed were not necessarily true, as they followed the story that he had written and had published in a magazine, it was still fun to see the character move from being an army cadet through to where he is at this point in time. It also gives you a chance to forget about Mulder and Scully for awhile, and ignore the way their characters had been treated in recent episodes. 4.5/5
