After the finest Dart World Championships I have watched (and that has only been since 2008), Phil "The Power" Taylor is once again the world champion after holding off the red-hot up and comer Michael van Gerwen 7-4 in a wonderful final.
This year's championships had everything. Seven of the top eight players in the world made the quarter finals, and each match was enthralling. Michael van Gerwen threw a televised 9 darter in the semi-final against James Wade, and then almost did the unthinkable by throwing consecutive 9-darters, missing only on his final throw at double 12. Shivers down the spine stuff it was.
