The world was saddened this morning by the announcement of the passing of Nelson Mandela. Rather than listing his life's achievements it would be easier to go to his Wikipedia page as linked above.
The story of Nelson Mandela, what he strived to achieve and how he
suffered in order to see it happen, and then how he succeeded, is a
story that should be mandatory teaching in our schools to our children.
Surely we can all only improve ourselves, our lives, and those around
us, by knowing and understanding his life and his achievements. I hope
kids today or next week in all schools are sat down by their teachers to
discuss his life and what he stood for, rather than just watching
videos to fill in the end of the school year.
