Shaun & Julia's Wedding

Now it was time for the final Peters family member to tie the knot and fall into marriage like the rest of us.

From The Abbey, Helen and I headed back to our house, where we were met by Mum and Dad, for our trip to see Julia and Shaun's Wedding (capital letters everywhere there! Such important people). The day was a cracker, which meant no need for jackets or any such things. Dad drove the four of us up in his u-beaut car, though the conditions covering this act of kindness was that one of Helen or myself would have to drive home. They ain't silly, my parents...

We arrived in plenty of time, and found good seats off to the side. The bride was only ten minutes late, which could be seen to be some kind of miracle.
The ceremony went off without a hitch, with both bride and groom unable to wipe the smiles from their faces, and lots of singing and so forth. Okay, I probably didn't need to be informed that God is Love, nor have the Macquarie Dictionary definition of 'love' explained to me, but you get that in the church community I guess. :)

With a four hour difference between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception, we headed back to Rydges Parramatta where the Kempsey Crew were staying the night for a bite to eat and a couple of eye openers.
The reception was being held at the Grand Royale in Granville. The entree came early enough, giving a little satisfaction from hunger, but the mains did not arrive until 8.30pm, by which time most people, who had forgone lunch for the 1.00pm ceremony, were starving. At least, those that were not over indulging in alcohol were starving. Our table attempted to relieve the atmosphere by trying to start the Wave, something that only really caught on with the bridal party's table.

It was good to catch up with the family, though the drive home to Albion Park was a long one on a Saturday night. However, under my watchful stewardship at the helm, we arrived safely at 1.15am after a long long day. I'm pretty sure Helen was asleep before she had even made the bedroom.
