On Friday morning the five of us headed up to The Abbey on
Jamberoo Mountain Road, to witness a religious unfolding.
Yes, that is a little bit vague, but I must say that I am
still not sure of all of the details involved. What it did involve was Helen's
mother, Christine, having her Final Profession in the Lay Carmelites of Australia. The Carmelights are an adjunct
of the Catholic Church. More information on all of this can be found here on their website for those that are interested.
I guess I should probably ask my mother-in-law straight up
rather than just go to websites, but there you go. In the fullness of time, no
doubt I will.
Anyway, it was a lovely day, and it was just Chris and her
friends and her family, along with her fellow 'sisters'.
Though Helen and I had to leave once the initial ceremony was
completed, it all went well (although Josh did come to me at one stage to ask
"how much longer does this go for?" As you would...). Better yet, we left our
kids with Chris and Chris to travel on to the next part of our day.
