SCDCA Under 13 Reps

The end of the local South Coast representative season saw the good guys fall at the final hurdle, losing to Shoalhaven off the final ball of the match. Despite several 'interesting' umpiring decisions, including Noah McWilliams being fired LBW despite the ball leaving a bruise at the very top of his leg, a couple of dicey run outs, a significant call of wide on the last ball of the 39th over in which our keeper took the ball without moving his feet at all... hmmmm... and what one might call an LBW decision off the final ball where the ball was certainly going to miss off and leg stumps... in the long run the game was decided more by the several dropped catches and 20 wides than anything else.

Kasey Barton (45), Jordan Poole (17) and Jaycob Constantinou (25) starred with the bat today, while Harry Welch (2/21) and Jordan (1/10) were today's wicket takers.

Star of the carnival was no doubt Jaycob "Jup" Constantinou, who performed in all three matches, scoring 7 not out and taking 2/18 off 8 overs, 26 not out and taking 2/7 off 5 overs, and 25 and 0/20 off 8 overs today, as well as being terrific in the field. He had an outstanding carnival and it has been wonderful to watch his improvement. Kasey Barton also once again had a huge influence with bat and ball.

Josh had a good three weeks, picking up wickets in the first game and perhaps not getting the rewards he deserved after that. He made a good contribution late with the bat today, and he still has plenty to offer going forward.

We move forward to the Youth Championships. I'm looking forward to the combined strength of South Coast and Shoalhaven as I think the players chosen will complement and strengthen the combined team into an excellent outfit.
