Politicians scam their “entitlements." Julie Bishop and her bloke party at the Polo ; Abbott swans around London. Barnaby Joyce rorts a job for his girlfiend. Victorian ALP MPs crookedly gouge $500k in so-called election expenses. #rottenOz

3)The public service is under a cloud. A deputy commissioner of the ATO is charged in connection with a $130m tax fraud. The Border Force boss, Roamin’ Roman Quaedvlieg is sacked in disgrace. Centrelink is a shambles. Corruption is rife in the old customs department. #rottenOz

4) Decency is dead. Dutton treats refugees with cynical brutality. Turnbull offers tax cuts to big business on the lie that they’ll mean pay rises for workers. Billions of dollars are shovelled onto rich private schools while state schools cry out for money. #rottenOz

5) Corporate Australia is a thieves’ kitchen. The biggest companies shovel their profits overseas to pay no tax. Franchise operations – 7-Eleven, Dominos Pizza, Caltex etc – screw their workers at $9 an hour. CEO pay reaches multi-million dollar heights of greed #rottenOz

6) The banking system is nakedly corrupt. Big banks launder money for criminals, crookedly rig critical lending rates, and shamelessly rob hundreds of thousands of their most vulnerable loan customers. #rottenOz

7) Morally we’re also up shit creek.
Churches conceal a pandemic of child sexual abuse. Children are still
sexually abused in the NT. One woman a week is murdered by a partner or
ex. Suicide is the leading cause of
death for Australians between 15 and 44 years of age #rottenOz

8) Finally, there’s the Australian cricket team revealed to the world as cheats.
That’s a new, sewer-level low in a game that was once the epitome of
good sportsmanship. Steve Smith was often
mentioned in the same sentence as Bradman.
